The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is opted by all those who aspire to go abroad for higher studies or for immigration purpose. This test is mandatory for all those who want to move to English speaking countries across the Globe.Aspiring candidates are tested in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking skills in the IELTS test. All candidates take the same Listening and Speaking Modules. There is a choice between Academic & General Training in the Reading and Writing Modules.

The first three modules i.e. Listening, Reading and Writing must be completed in a day. The Speaking module may be taken, at the discretion of the test centre, in the period seven days before or after the other modules. The tests are designed to cover the full range of ability from non-user to expert user.

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) measures the ability of non-native speakers of English to use and understand English. A TOEFL score is required as an admission criterion by many colleges and universities across the Globe.The TOEFL score is mandatory for individuals who plan to study in an English-medium college or university.

An aspiring TOEFL student can opt for either TOEFL PBT (Paper-based Testing) — It is paper-based version of the TOEFL test, it measures listening, reading and writing competencies of the candidate or TOEFL iBT (Internet-based Testing) — It is Internet-based version of the TOEFL test that incorporates an integrated-skills approach to simulate real-life academic situations, it measures all the 4 language skills (reading, listening, writing and speaking).

The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a common entrance exam for admission to IIMs & other top B-Schools. CAT basically tests your skills in five broad areas viz. Verbal Ability and Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Skills, Data Interpretation, Analytical and Logical Reasoning. The CAT test is of objective type in nature. The test penalises for wrong answers — every correct answer is awarded one point and every incorrect answer results in a 1/4 point deduction. The CAT is held once in a year in November-December. One must be a graduate with no less than 50% marks or studying in the final year to appear for the test.

The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a entrance exam for admission to a large number of B-schools conducted by AIMA.
